Abstract

A new IEEE Reliability Test System (2017 update) with wind and solar sources modeling 2020 has been created by NREL and posted on the GitHub RTS-GMLC repository. A simple procedure duplicates the 1979 RTS 'exact' indices and calculates indices for the 1996 RTS and the new 2020 Model RTS 'exact' indices. Extremely fast execution is realized by simply 'looking up' the exact LOLPs each hour from a COPT. Wind and solar are treated as hourly demand reducers. Computer program codes are included.
