Expanding Accessibility of Energy Modeling in Hawaii

Research output: NRELFact Sheet

Abstract

Engage is a free, publicly available web application for energy system modeling. It can augment the energy system planning process by empowering more stakeholders to understand energy system planning options. Engage is user-friendly, free accessible, collaborative, and communicative. The Hawaii Advanced Visualization Environment Nexus (HAVEN) is an outputs-based application for rendering high-impact communicative visualizations of complex data. Engage and HAVEN were developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the Hawaii State Energy Office. This use case provides an overview of Hawaii's use of Engage and HAVEN concurrently in working to meet the state's energy goals.
