This fact sheet provides a basic overview of electrons and their role in electricity. It is meant to be a simplified explanation to help teachers and students understand why some substances conduct electricity and others do not. It provides an introduction to the concepts of insulators and conductors. It also explores what electrons are doing in different types of chemical bonds.
