Abstract

To develop a direct microbial conversion (DMC) platform for the production of hydrocarbon fuels from cellulosic biomass substrate, Yarrowia lipolytica was used to investigate its potential for expressing cellulolytic enzymes. The aim of this study is to express other types of heterologous CBHIs in Y. lipolytica and examine their activities and potential for enabling utilization of cellulose.
