Field Monitoring Protocol: Heat Pump Water Heaters

Abstract

This document provides a standard field monitoring protocol for evaluating the installed performance of Heat Pump Water Heaters in residential buildings. The report is organized to be consistent with the chronology of field test planning and execution. Research questions are identified first, followed by a discussion of analysis methods, and then the details of measuring the required informationare laid out. A field validation of the protocol at a house near the NREL campus is included for reference.
