Grand Challenges in the Science of Wind Energy

Research output: NRELPresentation

Abstract

The energy system of the future that depends on 80% or more renewable energy will put new demands on the wind systems that support it. There are significant areas of scientific uncertainly that need to be addressed to enable the innovation required for success. This presentation, based on a 2019 article in Science, lays out those areas of scientific challenges and proposes an integrated wind energy discipline that encompasses the needed research.
