Grid-Interactive Efficient Buildings Technical Report Series: Whole-Building Controls, Sensors, Modeling, and Analytics: U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy (EERE)

Research output: NRELTechnical Report

Abstract

This report focuses on shedding and shifting services because these represent both the greatest near-term market opportunity and the most natural fit for large building loads. For HVAC, the focus is on building-level integration. For other end uses, the report addresses implementation issues independent of aggregation level. Modulation services currently represent a smaller market opportunity, although this has the potential to increase with greater levels of renewable generation.
