Abstract
The overall goal of this study was to identify new high-flux solar photon (HFSP) processes that show promise of being feasible and in the national interest. Electric power generation and hazardous waste destruction were excluded from this study at sponsor request. Our overall conclusion is that there is promise for new applications of concentrated solar photons, especially in certain aspects ofmaterials processing and premium materials synthesis. Evaluation of the full potential of these and other possible; applications, including opportunities for commercialization. requires further research and testing.
