High-Throughput Manufacturing of Thin-Film CdS/CdTe Photovoltaic Modules: Annual Subcontract Report, 16 September 1996 - 15 January 1998

    Research output: NRELSubcontract Report

    Abstract

Cadmium telluride (CdTe) is recognized as one of the leading materials for low-cost photovoltaic modules. Solar Cells, Inc., has developed this technology and is scaling its pilot production capabilities to a multi-megawatt level. The Photovoltaic Manufacturing Technology (PVMaT) subcontract supports these efforts. Activities during the third phase of the program concentrated on processdevelopment, equipment design and testing, quality assurance, ES&H programs, and large-scale next-generation coating-system prototype development. These efforts broadly addressed the issues of the manufacturing process for producing thin-film, monolithic CdS/CdTe photovoltaic modules.
