Abstract

The hot wire chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of isolated carbon single-walled nanotubes (SWNT) was discused. An analysis of the growth mechanism which explained the production of isolated SWNTs was presented. The Raman radial breathing modes (RBM) of small bundles of nanotubes deposited by a conventional CVD technique with a similar diameter distribution were also elaborated.
