Research output: NRELPresentation

Abstract

This presentation was presented at the VTO AMR in 2018 covering the Infrastructure Spatial Sensing at Intersection project, which investigates the benefits and state of industry for utilizing LiDAR and advanced video signal processing to track all objects in the field of view at intersections to enhance safety and optimize traffic flow. Whereas the safety, mobility, and energy benefits of automated and connected vehicles (CAVs) will only be realized at intersections, once a significant portion of the vehicle fleet is converted to CAV technology, advanced spatial sensors deployed at intersections provide the observability to optimize traffic flow in the near term, hastening its benefits.
