Abstract

The purpose of this report is to provide average monthly data that depict the long-term geographic distribution of U.S. direct normal solar radiation - solar radiation incident on a surface perpendicular to the sun's rays. The Insolation Data Manual presents monthly averaged data which describes the availability of solar radiation at 248 National Weather Service (NWS) stations, principally in theUnited States.
