Integrated Vehicle Thermal Management - Combining Fluid Loops in Electric Drive Vehicles (Presentation): NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory)

Research output: NRELPresentation

Abstract

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and electric vehicles have increased vehicle thermal management complexity, using separate coolant loop for advanced power electronics and electric motors. Additional thermal components result in higher costs. Multiple cooling loops lead to reduced range due to increased weight. Energy is required to meet thermal requirements. This presentation for the 2013 AnnualMerit Review discusses integrated vehicle thermal management by combining fluid loops in electric drive vehicles.
