Abstract
The possibility of using ferroelectric film-based transmission lines for a digital phase modulation of a microwave carrier was studied. Matched fin-line sections containing granular and polycrystalline BaxSr 1-xTiO3 films of compositions x = 0.4 and x = 0.6 were used in this investigation. The behavior of the microwave carrier phase and amplitude at the fin-line output under DC or video-pulsed control voltage application is presented. The upper limit of the response time of the phase response to control voltage was estimated. Spectra of the phase-modulated signal were measured and simulated.
