    Abstract

While passive solar systems are recognized as a critically important way to reduce the energy demands of buildings, the commercialization of passive solar systems may be accompanied by some level of consumer disappointment. This disappointment may result from insufficient solar access, personal injury or property damage resulting from the use of the system, inadequate system performance, or tax credit ineligibility.
