Abstract

Accurate modeling of power system loads plays a key role in power system simulation studies. Postmortem analysis of a significant number of power system events has highlighted that customer loads have a significant impact on power system dynamics (Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) 2022) and hence need to be modeled appropriately. Load modeling is a challenging task because of the diversity of consumer equipment and its daily and seasonal variability. Load modeling and available load models can have various levels of abstraction depending upon the purpose of the study, namely:
