Modeling the Grid Integration of Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) Resources

Research output: NRELPresentation

Abstract

The presentation was given at the November 21-23, 2018 'CEM Days - Integration of Renewables in the Electric Sector: Paths and Challenges to Energy Planning' in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It provides a summary of NREL's current modeling approaches, datasets, and considerations for integrating renewables into the power system. It also covers current model method improvement efforts, including our vision for a truly integrated modeling approach.
