    Abstract

    The Best Practices Manual was written as a part of the promotional effort for EnergySmart Schools, provided by the US Department of Energy, to educate school districts around the country about energy efficiency and renewable energy. Written specifically for architects and engineers, The Best Practices Manual is designed to help those who are responsible for designing or retrofitting schools, aswell as their project managers. This manual will help design staff make informed decisions about energy and environmental issues important to the school systems and communities.
