Abstract
NREL's research in renewable energy technologies is continuing to drive down the costs of systems integration, installation, and operation and maintenance in remote villages and rural areas across the globe. One of many examples described in this brochure is Chile, where NREL is currently providing technical assistance for a six-year rural electrification program that will power communications,lights, water pumping, refrigeration, schools, and health clinics.
