Photoelectrochemical Based Direct Conversion Systems for Hydrogen Production

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

With an eye towards developing a photoelectrochemical system for hydrogen production using sunlight as the only energy input, two types of systems were studied, both involving multijunction devices. One set of cells consisted of a-Si triple junctions and the other a GaInP/GaAs tandem cell combination. Addiitonal investigations were carried out on semiconductor surface modifications to movesemiconductor band edges to more favorable energetic positions.
