Abstract
Photovoltaic technology which is still evolving but holds promise as a renewable energy alternative is discussed. Substantial research is needed to improve the efficiency of the cells, the efficiency of the optics, and the reliability of the entire system. Further advancements are needed to improve performance and reduce cost. Once a low-cost, high-performance concentrator system is developed, the concentrator industry can grow very quickly.
