    Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

    Abstract

The Quick-Screen software package is a planning tool to quickly find the best distributed resource (DR) sites within a given electric utility and determine economic feasibility. It is targeted for utility personnel who make resource and distribution planning decisions. Regulators and analysts may also find it useful to make informed policy decisiions. Quick-Screen Beta Version 1.0 evaluates thecost-effectiveness of distributed photovoltaic (PV) generation. The software is intended to provide a simple-to-use tool that requires minimal data inputs. It runs on all PC-compatible Windows (registered) platforms, featuring a point-and-click user interface and online context-sensitive help. Several sample utility projects and results are provided to quickly get the user up and running. Usersshould be able to complete an evaluation in less than an hour.
