Abstract
In September 1995, a grant from DOE's FEMP allowed the National Park Service to implement a hybrid wind/photovoltaic energy project that will help to protect the Channel Islands' pristine resources. This case study describes the energy systems installed on Santa Rosa, San Miguel, Anacapa, and Santa Barbara Islands, and the environmental and economic benefits that will accrue.
