S819, S820, and S821 Airfoils: October 1992--November 1993

Research output: NRELSubcontract Report

Abstract

A family of thick airfoils for 10- to 20-meter, stall regulated, horizontal-axis wind turbines, the S819, S820, and S821, has been designed and analyzed theoretically. The primary objectives of restrained maximum lift, insensitive tro roughness, and low profile drag have been achieved. The constraints on the pitching moments and airfoil thicknesses have been satisfied.
