Abstract
This issue describes some of the ways in which our government is saving energy and money by using solar and wind systems to produce heat and electricity at Federal facilities. It focuses on successful energy efficiency and renewable energy projects-such as those in Joshua Tree National Park in California-sponsored by DOE's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) and other agencies. And itincludes information about software, innovative financing opportunities, and other tools that can help agencies fulfill the mandates of the Energy Policy Act of 1992 and Executive Order 13123.
