Abstract

The transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) CdO, Cd2SnO4, and Zn2SnO4 were studied with regards to their electro-optical properties, influence of structure on their properties and other issues. Free-carrier absorbance was found to increase by the increase of free-carrier mobility. Effective mass of the free carriers, their relaxation time, distributions of cations between octahedral and tetrahedral sites, deposition parameters influence on carrier concentrations and nature of dominant scattering mechanisms were studied by using various techniques like: Raman, optical and near-infrared spectroscopies; atomic-force and high-resolution electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction.
