Abstract

Solar power technology is becoming increasingly cost competitive and consumer oriented. Solar cells can even be integrated into the facade of a building in aesthetically pleasing ways. The discovery that gallium nitride and related materials make good light emitting diodes has revolutionized the industry. With each passing year, solar electricity commands a larger piece of the power-generation action.
