Solar Energy Controlled-Environment Agriculture in the United States and in Saudi Arabia

    Research output: NRELTechnical Report

    Abstract

The work described aims to advance the technical and economic feasibility of commercial-scale, solar-powered, controlled-environment agriculture. The water desalination technology being evaluated is reverse osmosis. The solar energy collection technologies include flat-plate thermal collectors, solar ponds, photovoltaics, and wind turbines. The greenhouse designs are specific for each system.
