Abstract
The United States' critical energy infrastructure is vulnerable to major disruption-either from natural or human cause. Fortunately, we have numerous options for reducing such vulnerability, minimizing potential risks, and dealing with the threat of disruptions. Renewable energy technologies can play a vital role in ensuring the security of our energy infrastructure. And the capabilities of theNational Renewable Energy Laboratory foster their development and application.
