Study of Various Encapsulation Schemes for c-Si Solar Cells with EVA Encapsulants

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

Several encapsulation schemes for crystalline Si (c-Si) solar cells, grouped into three categories of superstrate/encapsulant/Si-cell/encapsulant/substrate, were studied using different superstrates and substrates with extruded EVA films as the main encapsulant materials. A number of technical problems were observed and practical solutions to the problems are presented. The results are useful fordesigning and fabricating various samples of encapsulated c-Si cells and mini-modules for accelerated weathering tests in our future work.
