Tracking the Cost of Wind Energy (Presentation): NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory)

Research output: NRELPresentation

Abstract

This presentation provides an overview of trends in cost of energy for offshore and land-based wind plants. The offshore wind industry is expanding into deeper waters farther from shore which contributes to a wide range of cost of energy. U.S. land-based wind plant cost of energy may be returning to a historical low as a result of, in part, new wind turbine options. Projections for future windplant cost of energy anticipate reductions for both land-based and offshore wind plants.
