Valuation of Demand-Side Commercial PV Systems in the United States

    Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

    Abstract

We present an evaluation of the economic feasibility of demand-side commercial PV systems in the United States. The product of this investigation is a map of commercial PV feasibility quantified in terms of Breakeven Turnkey Cost (BTC). Results are presented for several PV array configurations, including 2-axis tracting, tilted south-facing, horizontal, west and south-vertical orientations. Thefeasibility maps are obtained through geographical integration of information on PV energy output, PV effective capacity, and energy/demand commercial retail rates from over 140 US electric utilities.
