Nevertheless, flexWEC research and development is nascent in nature and needs greater understanding and evaluation of its potential. The overall goals of this project, therefore, are to understand the scientific and engineering merit of flexWECs and to assess how flexWECs could be best utilized to create effective and viable converters of marine renewable energy.",
