Abstract
This specific report addresses wind loading on solar collectors since the determination of wind loading is one of the major design considerations in designing tracking and field-mounted solar collectors . The main objective of the report is to review and assess the present design methodology for wind loading on collectors for solar thermal applications and to recommend areas of furtherinvestigation for developing realistic criteria to determine reliable and adequate wind loads . The feasibility of using innovative design considerations to reduce the magnitude of wind loads on the solar collectors is also considered . This report contains valuable information regarding the comparative studies of various aspects of design methodology and should be of interest to designengineers and developers of solar collectors.
